I don't have it with me. But here's something similar:

She looked back at him, fearing that she had overstepped her boundaries.

It seems that the clause starting with 'fearing' shouldn't follow the word 'him' because it appears to modify 'him' instead of 'she.' At least, that's what I think he meant.
